Truemuse is paid by brands: each brand that lists its products pays us a monthly subscription. That is a business connection between Truemuse and every brand you see here, and we want you to know it. We don't take affiliate commissions or a share of what you buy, the links to brand websites are plain links, and every brand is treated the same way.

Lumi and Scan. A brand can't pay for Lumi or Scan to recommend or rank its products. They answer from the same product information every shopper can see on Truemuse.

Every product on Truemuse is an advert. Brands pay a monthly subscription to list their products. We don't sell products or take a commission on what you buy.

Brands can't pay for a higher position. Unless you choose a sort (such as price or newest), products that match your search and filters take turns in the top spots each day.

Brand Spotlight: each week our team chooses one brand for the Brand Spotlight on the home page, based on how shoppers have engaged with its products on Truemuse. It can't be bought.

Truemuse doesn't give expert scores, "best of" rankings or "better than" comparisons between brands. Lumi follows the same rule.

• Shopper reviews: brands can't pay to remove, edit or reorder reviews, and we never hide genuine negative reviews
• Product values: these come from brands; a value only shows "Certificate provided" when the brand has shared a certificate or test report for it
• Shopper ratings: calculated from every published review
